TrustLine is an important safety service to families who are seeking a child care provider.
The TrustLine Registry checks an individual's background for any previous crimes against children and for other criminal convictions. The TrustLine Registry is a database that applies to all non-relative providers exempt from license.
Parents and other members of the community can call TrustLine at 1-800-822-8490 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday to check if the child care provider they are considering using is TrustLine registered and if the provider has been cleared of previous criminal convictions.
Potential child care providers are fingerprinted. Their fingerprints are checked against the California Criminal History System and the Child Abuse Central Index at the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Records. PACEAPP gives families who have chosen a provider that is denied TrustLine registration 14 days to select a new provider.
